Surrounding area
Via is located at more than 1500 meters altitude. It belongs to Font Romeu-Odello, very close to the borders of France, Spain and Andorre. It is a very quiet village, with little traffic. It has marked snow rackets circuits. The Font-Romeu ski resort is located just 7 minutes away from the apartment by car. One can use the bus to get there; there is a bus stop nearby.
The train station Odello-Font-Romeu of the famous yellow train is just 5 minutes walking from the apartment.
For shopping we recommend that you use Super-U and Lidl supermarkets, in the way to Egat, just 3 minutes away from the apartment by car. Not to mention that you can spend the hole day shopping in Andorre!
Font-Romeu has plenty of restaurants and other services (pharmacy, take-away food, newspapers, video club, bancs, etc.)
Other interesting addresses: LLivia, 11 minutes by car. Puigcerda 20 minutes by car. Andorra 40 minutes by car.
Activities
Cycling, fishing, horse riding, mountaineering, sailing, swimming, walking, snow rackets, and a 9 holes golf course, one of the highests in Europe!, opened from May to November.
There is a path that leads to the village of Bolquere, ideal with snow rackets in winter and by bike the rest of the year.
In summer we recommend you to take the XXX in the ski resort of Font-Romeu (Roc de la Calma) up to the Bulloses lake or a family journey in the Matelama lac in Les Angles. Font-Romeu has a 9 hole golf course.
Other activities:
Puigcerdà market (Catalonia): Every Sunday morning. We recommend you to arrive by 10 to avoid the crowds.
Thermal springs: Dorres y Llo (France). The Dorres are outdoors and are opened even in winter.
Villages: Mont-Louis, Vilafranca de Conflent, Prades, Llo (France)
Yellow train: Le train jaune, for 90 years has been a train symbol of Catalan region of France. It joins the villages of La Tour de Carol (1231 mts.) with Villefranche de Conflent (724 mts.). The train has the highest elevation route in all of Europe, Bolquère (1593 mts).
